All the kids were telling tales
of the storms and drains
I was pretending I was months or years
past these stupid things
that got put off so long
far past the expiration date
but I've got nothing left to open
so I pray it's not too late
How we love to mess around
shake that tight capped bottle
how we love to get under
the hood and kink the throttle
knowing we've all got our expiration
dates we cannot know
and no idea at all when we
might get dragged out by the undertow
