The arguments I hear upstairs
nobody else does
nobody cares
surely it's all in my head
surely it will stop
at least when I'm dead

dead tired on my feet
anything at all just to
make the voices retreat
our claim to being not crazy
is we know they are not real
yet we talk back as if they are
and crazy maybe has an appeal
but one thing is sure
the arguments never resolve
