life without a card
never dreamed it would be so confusing
never guessed that it would be so hard
to have something like freedom
mixed with true responsibility
plus it seems I somehow
earned my muse’s enmity
nonetheless I’m keeping busy
nonetheless I’m making time
still searching for the subtle turn of phrase
or the less worn scrap of rhyme
If indeed I’m poor in spirit
I am rich indeed in dreams
and the hope of inspiration
in the hope it’s all more than it seems
