Bear with me a little longer
please don’t give up hope
I’m trying very very hard
to play out enough rope
to the beast that dwells within
the demon in the details
I’m trying hard to send this
train of thoughts right off the rails
I try to take a cheerful aspect
try to prove my point
that nine times out of ten
the problem’s just time out of joint
but I can see the contrary
position that it’s always now
And I can see the point of
singing loudly from my gospel plow
I can adapt I swear it
learn a different trade
I’m searching searching searching for it
