Hmm, well I haven't gone Meta in here in a good while. After finishing the 6,667th song in the planned 10,000 cycle of the second Songs of Day project it seemed like time for a check-in. Two thirds in, 9ish years to go... it no longer feels inevitable that I'll make it all the way. I don't expect to stop writing, more that I could, you know, unintentionally cease to exist. On this mortal plain anyway.

Ah but that was always the deal and I won't dwell on it.  I put song number 2.6667, The Art Century, in observance of David Bowie's album Low (all tied up in the 1001 song project-within-a-project I'm closing in on now at number 935), in the can tonight.
