2.1544 : 7/25/09 : Pony (The Golden Age 89/100)

There’s supposed to be a pony in here somewhere
Optimism might not be all that it’s chalked up to
But I cannot pretend it hasn’t got me so far
Can’t pretend I didn’t need it that one night I talked to you
Got no room for a pony anyway
Still somebody has to shovel it away
Grandpa told his stories back in the day
And I didn’t want a pony anyway
there’s supposed to be some silver in this cloud
no offense but that thunder’s getting loud
And I want to trust but I’m not sure what in
And I want to stand out but still fade into the crowd
Got no room for a pony anyway
Still somebody has to shovel it away
Grandpa told his stories back in the day
And I didn’t want a pony anyway
Got no room for a pony anyway
Still somebody has to shovel it away
Grandpa told his stories back in the day
And I didn’t want a pony anyway
Got no room for a pony anyway
But I guess I’ve got to shovel it away
Yeah Grandpa told great stories back in the day
But I never got that pony anyway

what
