The only way to break out
if it's only for a day
And laughing as nobody
hears a single thing I say
I've been letting down the axis
a bad Atlas shrugging off his load
after all it was just a nice thought
and such things will erode
maybe we're standing on
the shoulders of the weak and small
maybe the giants are
the ones who need us groundlings most of all
and none of them will matter much
if we run it all aground
so I will learn a cheerful tune
to whistle while I'm dropping every sound
