I’m getting nowhere fast

I’m behind by any metric

and wow it’s a blast

I think I could just lighten up

and take it as it comes

and any other platitude

you throw me in my doldrums

sure I’ll start pumping iron

learn to speak French

I’ll shovel some more at you

if you can stand the stench
