I was told the turning of the
color of the leaves of trees
would be spectacular this year
the reason for this if you please
was so it was told to me
that this late summer we had had
a dry spell
and though what's below so seldom
really follows what's above
I wondered if a lovely turning
couldn't be brewing
inside me as well
