For those I watched recede
inexorably
though I alone did not believe
inevitably
nonetheless some came
to a bad end indeed
and here I too much change
to have a hope
that I can still succeed
to stay present
to keep hope afloat
good bye lost friends
it's been long and gone
since we were in the same boat
and I don't know
where you receded to
or was it me
who all unheeded flew
