Pressed into service
from troubled sleep
trying to grasp another rhythm
I could not keep
drumming my fingers
tapping my toes
wondering whatever
transcends mere prose
What was the mission?
relentless sunshine
clutching or pining
for a manner just not mine
not to question if it's worth it
nor if it pays
hold those queries silent
for later days
