825 : 7/13/00 : Before the Wave

What a silence will descend then
as we gaze at our demise
traveling across the whole world
far above skyscraper size
We may wonder what we did to
merit such a killing blow
little understanding that our
ends were plotted far below
We misread the signs and signals
blind to what we swore to save
This won’t be the last time we
wish for the world before the wave
some may cling to bits of flotsam
wash up on some crazy shore
Some might stay afloat a while
a few will come there won’t be more
One less thing to worry about
for those that rule the nether realm
and there’s not a single one
of us the wave won’t overwhelm
