840 : 7/28/00 : Helen Keller

In a dark and silent world
a helen dark and silent curled
unknowing name or voice or light
and seemingly a helpless plight
and yet the song remains the same
though it may not know its own name
imagine yourself like her
what taste or touch you might remember
mind waits silent mind waits dark
leaps up before the eternal spark
Writes in a neat if flaming script
words fit for the wall of your crypt
“Remember Helen Keller, boy
What I create I too destroy
but nothing of true value’s lost -
who else accounts the final cost?”
